Green Producers Tool helps organisations in the cultural, creative and sports sectors plan, measure and reduce the climate impact of their productions.

Developed by Green Producers Club in collaboration with Yulieta by Innocode and othe leading industry partners, the research-based platform has grown from a Scandinavian innovation project into a tool used by more than 600 organisations across Europe. More than 7,000 projects have already been calculated using the platform.

We are Green Producers Club’s digital development partner, helping design, build and continuously improve the Green Producers Tool.

From climate ambition to practical decisions

Productions generate emissions through activities such as transport, energy use, accommodation, catering, equipment rental, materials and waste. Understanding the total footprint requires all these activities to be collected and matched with relevant emission factors.

Green Producers Tool gives production teams a structured way to do this. Users can estimate emissions before a project begins, compare alternative production choices and document the actual footprint when the project is completed.

The platform is tailored to the realities of film and television, festivals, performing arts, events, sports, exhibitions and artworks. Its emission calculations are based on Life Cycle Assessment methodology and climate research developed in collaboration with CICERO.

Making climate reporting easier with AI

Accurate climate reporting depends on detailed production data. Traditionally, every flight, hotel stay, equipment rental and other activity has had to be entered manually. For complex productions, this can be both time-consuming and prone to error.

To simplify this work, Innocode developed an AI-assisted document-reading feature for Green Producers Tool.

Users can upload documents they already have, including invoices, receipts, equipment lists, spreadsheets and rental agreements. The system identifies activities relevant to the emissions calculation, matches them with the tool’s emission-factor library and creates draft records for the user to review.

Designed for transparency and human control

Extracting information was only one part of the challenge. For users to trust the results, they also need to understand where the information came from and remain in control of what enters their climate reporting.

Every extracted item is therefore linked to its source in the uploaded document. Users can verify the information without having to search through the entire file again. Information the system cannot classify confidently is highlighted for manual follow-up instead of being guessed.

All extracted activities remain drafts until they have been reviewed and published by a person. Nothing is added to an organisation’s final emissions reporting without human approval.

Quality measured against real production documents

The AI feature is evaluated using a benchmark set of real production documents for which industry experts have defined the correct results. The benchmark is rerun whenever the system is changed, making it possible to measure whether an update improves or reduces quality.

Across successive development iterations, the proportion of relevant activities identified by the system increased from 84% to 99.8%. The proportion of fields completed correctly increased from 68% to 88%. No invented activities have appeared in benchmark testing.

This approach makes quality measurable rather than assumed—and provides a safer foundation for introducing AI into professional climate reporting.

A growing European platform

Green Producers Tool is now used by more than 600 organisations, with more than 7,000 projects calculated across Europe. The platform is updated continuously based on new climate research, industry knowledge and feedback from real users.

In 2026, Green Producers Club launched a new Creative Europe Innovation Lab project to further develop and validate the AI-enhanced platform, establish a standardised certification model and strengthen Green Producers Club hubs across Europe.

The ambition is clear: to make reliable climate planning and reporting easier, so that producers can spend less time processing data and more time making choices that reduce emissions.
